Kunle Afolayan Remembers Late Dad After 22 Years
Prolific Nollywood filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan has paid tribute to his late father, Adeyemi Afolayan.
Popularly known as Adelove among movie lovers in the early 90s died 22 years ago, on December 30, 1996.
Mr. Afolayan, one of the most talented filmmakers in the industry shared a video of one of the scenes in Adelove’s movies, and captioned the video;
“This is in memory of our father Late Adeyemi Josiah Akano Afolayan who passed 30th December 1996 (22) years ago. Keep resting pops! Ire #afolayan #adelove #Agbamu.”

Mayweather Beats Japan’s Tenshin In Two Minutes
Floyd “Money” Mayweather beat Japanese kickboxing phenomenon Tenshin Nasukawa by a technical knockout on Monday (Dec 31) after just two minutes of a New Year’s Eve “exhibition” bout that brought the US boxing superstar out of retirement for a big pay day.
In a mismatched contest, Mayweather floored Nasukawa, a kickboxer less than half his age, three times in the first round of the three-round contest before the Japanese fighter’s trainer rushed in to stop the fight.
“Money” Mayweather has hinted on social media he was pocketing US$9 million for the fight, meaning he earned around US$4.5 million per minute for the spectacle.
The American boxer at first appeared not to be taking the fight seriously, grinning at his opponent and aiming only soft punches at him.
But he then demonstrated his power, launching a series of jabs and hooks to the head of the 20-year-old Japanese fighter, sending him to the canvas after just one minute with a left hook.
Sensing his opponent was struggling, Mayweather stepped in for the kill, unleashing a flurry of punches that left Nasukawa reeling again within just two minutes of the bout and facing his second standing count after a huge right hook to the head.
With the Japanese fighter clearly battling to stay on his feet, the trainer rushed in and stopped the fight with less than one minute of the first round remaining.
“It was all about entertainment. We had fun,” Mayweather said in the ring after the event.
“I’m still retired. I don’t look forward to coming back to boxing but I did this just to entertain the fans in Japan,” added the 41-year-old.

I’m Not Obsessed With Individual Awards – Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he is “not obsessed” by individual trophies, having missed on this year’s Ballon d’Or after winning it five times.
“I’m not obsessed by individual prizes,” Ronaldo told Portuguese sports daily Record.
“The most important thing is to win collective trophies and help the team. The rest comes naturally.”
Cristiano Ronaldo added: “I don’t think all the time of beating records. I work above all to help the club and be at my best level.
“The technical, tactical and physical level of all teams is better today,” he said. “It’s increasingly tough to win so I have to keep working hard to stay on top.”
Having missed the start of Portugal’s Nations League campaign to better adjust to life with Juve, Ronaldo said that in 2019 he “envisages being at the disposal of the national coach”.
In the wide-ranging interview, Ronaldo also dubbed as “revolting” allegations of R@pe made against him dating back to 2009, something he strenuously denies. He added that he had a “calm conscience” and was “confident that everything will very soon be clarified”.

2019: Full Text Of President Buhari’s New Year Message To Nigerians
President Muhammadu Buhari has welcomed Nigerians into the year 2019. Buhari stated that the year 2019 will be significant for the country.
Dear compatriots,
It is my utmost pleasure to rejoice with all Nigerians as we enter the year 2019, which will be a very significant one for our country.
2. At the turn of every year, we often use the opportunity to look back at the past and forward to the future. To review the outgoing year, its high and low points, successes and failures, and be fully thankful to God.
3. We Nigerians are a religious people, and we believe that God reigns and rules in the affairs of men. A time like this offers precious opportunity for thanksgiving, stock taking and reflection on goals and targets set for the receding year, and how much was accomplished. The ones not done can then be rolled over into a new year.
4. The dawn of a New Year is also a time to look forward. To consider new prospects, unfold our plans, and prepare for landmark dates and events.
5. 2019 will be an election year for us. In about two months, the polls are due, and we will elect leaders into various offices, at national and state levels.
6. As I welcome you into 2019, I also reiterate my many promises and declarations that the general elections will be free, fair and credible.
7. Elections need not be do or die affair, and we should not approach that eventuality in a democracy with trepidation and mortal fear. Happily, a large number of presidential candidates have committed to peace, and peace we shall have.
8. Those who continue to trumpet falsehood and negativity are on their own, fighting a losing battle. The greater number of Nigerians are trusting and believing that we shall deliver on our promises for a level playing field at the polls, and that is what we shall do.
9. Nigerians desire peace, security, prosperity, inclusiveness and infrastructural development, a nation they can be proud of, a country that can hold its own among the nations.
10. That is the journey we have embarked on since we came onboard in 2015, and we are not distracted as we move on. We are resolved to build a country in which the resources are utilized for the benefit of the largest number, and not appropriated by a privileged few in their never ending quest to satisfy their greed. We are on this mission together, and I assure you of a firm commitment to the ideals of a safe, secure, fair, just and prosperous country.
11. We have had our challenges: security, economic, political, social. But we are resolved to combat and overcome them all.
12. I appreciate your support and collaboration in previous years, and look forward to same in 2019, and beyond, as I hope you will renew the mandate you overwhelmingly gave us in 2015, for another term.
13. We are motivated by nothing other than service to motherland, and service without selfishness or personal interest.
14. I can assure you all that we are making steady and sustainable progress in all areas of national life. Those who are unbiased can see and appreciate the progress the country has made since 2015.
14. A New Year provides opportunity for renewal of commitment, and I invite you to rededicate yourselves to the vision of a Nigeria that works for all.

Manchester United interim manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has said Paul Pogba’s performance against Bournemouth. proved that he does not need to showboat to prove how good he is.
Pogba scored twice and laid on one assist, in the 4-1 win at Old Trafford, as Solskjaer continued his perfect start since taking over from Jose Mourinho.
“That is a top, top performance from a midfielder.
“It’s work rate, headers, winning tackles, no showboating and it’s touch, pass, move and he’s at his best when he plays that game.
“There was maybe one flick he could have done better with, but not a lot else he could have done,” Solskjaer said after the game.

Trey Songz has found himself in the midst of a pregnancy controversy days now that he is readying to settle in a relationship with Steve Harvey’s stepdaughter, Lori Harvey.
The Heart Attack singer may have found himself in a messier situation as P0rn star, Brittney Jones has posted ultrasound pictures to buttress her claim.
Recall that she had explained that the reason he slept with her is because they both wanted to do “sick things” to each other, “something other women were too ashamed to say out loud.”
A few hours ago, she posted pictures of an ultrasound photo confirming it is Trey Songz child.
To show her seriousness, Jones was online responding to “Trey Fans” who refused to believe that the pictures weren’t something fabricated.
“Trey fans say I made it with a App but how does a app change the actual photo,” Jones explained on Instagram. “And I spelt my own name wrong. Lmao,” she wrote in another post.
Meanwhile, Harvey’s ex-fiance and Dutch footballer Memphis Depay has released a new cryptic song, “No Love” which fans believe explains why they broke up.

The 26-year-old rapped debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with his album I Am > I Was as of Sunday (December 30) according to the official chart company.
This is 21‘s first No. 1 album on the chart!
He moved 131,000 equivalent album units in the first week, with 18,000 of those being traditional album sales. Streaming accounted for the bulk of the album units.
This is his second solo studio album. He previously charted with Without Warning (No. 4), as well as Issa Album (No. 2) and Savage Mode (No. 23) in 2017. Congratulations, 21!

Small Doctor has just acquired for himself, a new Porsche Cayenne.
He shared a photo of himself posing with the new gift, and some of his fans are already pouring out congratulatory messages to him.
Small Doctor recently returned to social media after he was arrested by the officers of the Lagos State Police.
In case you missed it: the singer was arrested yesterday after firearms were found in his possession. And speaking with the press, the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, said the singer and his friends were arrested at Oshodi area of Lagos after they had threatened to shoot traffic policemen. He added that they would be charged for the alleged crime.
Not long after, a video surfaced showing the moment the singer was arrested.
Small Doctor was arraigned at the Ebute Metta Magistrate Court, where he pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him. He was promptly released on bail on self-recognizance.
Sharing his first tweet weeks back, he wrote;

Again, Pogba Scores Another Brace As Manchester United Thrash Bournemouth
Paul Pogba scored twice for the second time in five days as Manchester United’s revival since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced the sacked Jose Mourinho continued unabated with a 4-1 thrashing of Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
A third consecutive victory since Solskjaer took caretaker charge until the end of the season keeps United eight points adrift of Chelsea in the fight for a top-four finish.
Marcus Rashford also shone as the England international’s stunning run and cross teed up Pogba’s opener before he scored United’s third.
Nathan Ake pulled a goal back for Bournemouth just before half-time, but Romelu Lukaku came off the bench to round off the scoring before Eric Bailly was shown a late red card to leave United to finish with 10 men.
The change in mood around United in the 12 days since Mourinho was sacked is palpable, no more so in the performances of Pogba who was discarded from the Portuguese’s starting line-up for his final three league games in charge.
The French World Cup winner played a part in four of United’s five goals at Cardiff last weekend to get Solskjaer off to a flying start before scoring twice against Huddersfield on Boxing Day.
Solskjaer has spoken of his desire to see Pogba break into the box more regularly and he had the simplest of tasks to prod the ball into an empty net after Rashford had bewildered the Bournemouth defence.
Ake and Diego Rico were left beaten by Rashford’s combination of fleet-footed dribbling and pace before his cross perfectly picked out Pogba’s run.
The roles were reversed 10 minutes later when this time Pogba’s header teed up Rashford for a powerful strike that was deflected just behind.
However, in stark contrast to the final days of Mourinho’s tenure, it seemed only a matter of time before United struck again and once more it was Pogba who provided the finish with a bullet header from Ander Herrera’s cross.
Unlike Pogba, Nemanja Matic was one of Mourinho’s most trusted lieutenants but the Serbian has also epitomised the change in tack orchestrated by Solskjaer with the former Chelsea midfielder much more willing to look for a forward rather than sideways pass.
And Matic began the move for United’s third when he picked out Anthony Martial’s run and the Frenchman’s cross with the outside of his boot was turned home by Rashford.
For all the improvements of late, though, Solskjaer is still waiting for a first clean sheet since November as Ake beat Matic to power home David Brooks’s cross.
Rashford should have added to his tally when put clean through by Pogba, but didn’t get enough elevation on his attempted chip over Asmir Begovic before making way for Lukaku 20 minutes from time.
And the Belgian netted almost instantly when he squeezed the ball past Begovic on his weaker right foot from another Pogba pass.
Only the post then denied Pogba a first ever hat-trick when his low strike from the edge of the box came off the woodwork.
But United had to see out the final 11 minutes a man light after Bailly needlessly lunged in on Ryan Fraser to see a straight red card.

Cassie Shares Photo Of Her Kissing New Guy, Shortly After Diddy Revealed He Missed Her
Popular US singer, Sean “Diddy” Combs, might still be missing his ex, Casandra Elizabeth Ventura, better known as Cassie, but it appears the actress and dancer, have since moved on and might have found herself a new boo.
In October, Diddy and Cassie confirmed their breakup after reportedly being separated for months.
However, the duo were spotted together again after Kim Porter, the mother of Diddy’s children, passed away in November and it sparked speculation that the two of them were looking to rekindle their relationship.
However, Cassie’s latest Instagram post pretty much confirms that they aren’t getting back together, at least for now.
Diddy had taken to his Instagram Story on Friday night to post an intimate shot of Cassie in a bathtub with the words “I @cassie” in his attempt to show how much he was missing her.
The singer re-posted the same shot again early Saturday.
Unfortunately for him, Cassie appears to have moved on with a younger man.
Shortly after Diddy’s post, Cassie shared a photo of her and her mother in a photo booth alongside a mystery man on Instagram.
“I love you Mommy,” she captioned the pic.
But it was the second photo that has social media talking. Cassie and the unidentified man are seen locking lips, which prompted a flurry of comments on social media.
Cassie might still care for Diddy in some capacity, but for the time being it would appear as though they’re strictly friends.
