Chelsea Boss Sarri Speaks On Kante’s New Deal At The Club
Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, has spoken up on the importance of the new deal for French star, N’golo Kante.
Sarri said he was delighted to see N’Golo put pen to paper on a new deal.
The France international has been a key player for Chelsea since moving to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City.
The player had been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but rejected the move in favour of signing a mega money deal to remain at Chelsea for the next five years.
Sarri said the player’s committal to the club was “important news” for everybody associated with the club.
“N’golo for us is not just an important player, he’s a determinant players for us,” Sarri told a press conference at Chelsea’s cobham training ground ahead of their clash with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
“I’m really happy with the new contract, really pleased for him – it’s very important news I think.
“I know that David [Luiz] said something about him – he doesn’t want to pay the bill in the restaurant. So he has a flaw like everybody, but he’s very professional on the pitch and out of the pitch.
“He’s very important for us in the defensive phase but he’s improving in the offensive movements. He has to improve in the last 20/25 metres, he can score more goals.”
